UTO – United Thank Offering

        Fall Ingathering 2020

Our United Thank Offering gifts and distribute new boxes and envelopes safely!      We are incorporating our UTO Ingathering with the Jubilee Collection from now through November 18th.   There are two ways you can participate:

1) If you bring your Jubilee donations to church before November 18th, you can include your Blue Box in the bag of donations, put it on the porch near the office, and ring the bell.  Someone from the office will bring it inside. There is a big blue bin that has boxes and envelopes for your use. If you have a key, place it inside the door.       If you would like to make a cash or check donation, there will be a box on the porch with envelopes and new Blue Boxes.  Place your cash or check (made out to Holy Trinity ECW) in the Mail Slot to the right of the door and pick up a box to continue your prayers and gifts of thanks.

2) Bring your Blue Box and/or monetary donation to the Illinois Street parking lot between 5:30-7:30 on Wednesday, November 18, and a volunteer will pick up your donations for Jubilee and UTO as well as give you a new Blue Box.  If you would like to mail a check to church, please make it out to Holy Trinity ECW and put UTO on the message line. ZipLoc bags full of coins will also work (Just put UTO on the bag and start over with a new box! )

Our last Ingathering was November 2019, and this gives us a way to share our gifts and blessings with our sisters and brothers all over the world.

UTO Team

UTO-BOX

Everyone within our parish is encouraged to participate in UTO….Children and adults alike. It is a way of taking the time to say our prayers of gratitude for all of the blessings of our lives. As we drop coins into the little blue boxes, we create a tangible representation of our thankfulness. It is a wonderful way of teaching our children and reminding ourselves, that we are all called to serve one another in life. The outreach of this mission extends throughout the world.

What is UTO?

An organization created to offer financial assistance to help spread the gospel and to assist people with compelling human needs (examples include missionary support, building facilities allowing us to broaden god’s work in many countries besides the us, drilling water wells in communities which have no fresh water supplies,….)

Is all of the money used for assisting others?

Yes! In fact every penny of it goes directly to the people in need! The operational costs of running UTO are supplied through a trust established for that purpose as well as the costs for publishing materials used in collection and education about the program.

What happens to the money collected at Holy Trinity?

Twice a year, as suggested by the diocesan UTO chairperson, we hold an “ingathering sunday” (spring – 1st Sunday of May, and fall – 1st Sunday of November). During these two Sundays, we collect the “little blue boxes” in which you have been dropping your coins as you say your prayers of thanksgiving. We also place envelopes on the pews for a special collection opportunity (apart from the regular plate offerings). These are collected and counted by our local UTO team and then submitted to our diocesan coordinator, who collects from all of the parishes within our diocese. Holy trinity has faithfully supported UTO through the years, and has remained one of the top contributors of this very worthwhile ministry.“
