Lay Eucharistic Ministers Lay Eucharistic Ministers are selected by the ministry leaders of the church, trained by the diocese and Holy Trinity staff and commissioned by the Bishop to assist in special functions of worship. They read the Scriptures during Sunday worship services, and help serve the bread and wine during Holy Communion. In addition, these ministers take communion to homebound and hospitalized parishioners. Contact: Jack Bilbo
Acolytes This ministry, open to all confirmed boys and girls in the 5th grade or above, provides an important and wonderful opportunity to serve at the altar and assist the clergy in services on Sunday morning, as well as funerals, weddings, and other special occasions. Contact: Don Olive Altar Guild Women of the Altar Guild, who work in teams, prepare the church for all worship services, baptisms, weddings, and funerals. They keep the silver polished, and have charge of the candles and linens as well as the wine and communion wafers for the Holy Eucharist. Essential to Sunday morning worship, they also care for the vestments of the clergy. Contact: Kim Jones
Cana Guild Guild members help the members of the wedding party with pre-wedding logistics pertaining to the use of the church, and also act as a liaison between the celebrating priest and those involved in wedding preparations. The Cana Guild takes its name after the town of Cana (probably present day Khirbet Qana, just north of Nazareth), where Jesus performed his first miracle by changing water into wine at a wedding there. Office Volunteers These much needed volunteers serve in the administration of the everyday workings of the church by assisting at the reception desk, preparing bulk mailings, collating bulletins for special worship services, and answering the telephone each weekday from 9am-12 and 1-4pm. Contact: Cindy Wimberly Flower Guild The flower guild are responsible for arranging all flowers in the sanctuary and other areas of the church throughout the year, including weddings, funerals, festival days, Christmas, Easter, as well as for all Sunday services.
Ushers Teams of men serving as ushers at worship and other services are responsible for escorting parishioners and visitors into the sanctuary on Sunday mornings and other special occasions, handing out service bulletins and taking up the offertory. They also assist in directing the congregation to the front to the church during communion.
