Fr. John Wedgwood-Greenhow was born in the English Lake District in 1957.  He attended St. Bees Academy and Sedburgh School.  He is a graduate of Cambridge, Manchester, and Edinburgh Universities in Britain, and of Coates Hall, the seminary of the Scottish Episcopal Church. He is a veteran of the British Royal Navy.  Fr. John was ordained to the priesthood in Manchester Cathedral, England in 1985.  He immigrated to the United States in 1986 serving for two years at St. Luke's UMC in Midland (and as an Associate at St. Nicholas) before moving to Northern California where he served a number of congregations.  Fr. John's first wife passed away in 2005.  He married Myrna Obert in November of 2009.  They have nine adult children between them -- and many grandchildren.

The Rev. Dr. Allen Whitman , our Rector Emeritus, graduated in Law from the University of Minnesota in 1948 and in Theology from the University of Chicago in 1952. In 1965, he received a Master in Sacred Theology degree from Northwestern Lutheran Seminary and was awarded a Doctor of Divinity degree by Nashotah House Seminary in 1973. In 1985, he was certified as a Spiritual Director by the Shalom Institute in Washington, D.C. Rev. Whitman's additional studies have been at the C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich, Switzerland, the Anglican College in Jerusalem, special studies at Yale Divinity School, Bexley Hall Seminary, Seminary of the Southwest, the College of Preachers, and St. Deiniol's in Wales. He is the author of five books, "Parson McFright", "Pray for your life", "A Gospel Comes Alive", "Fairytales and the Kingdom of God", and "A Witness to Christian Healing". We were very blessed to have Rev. Whitman as our Rector from 1981 to 1992.  Rev. Whitman also continues to give personal spiritual direction, and conducts seminars on the interpretation of dreams.
