Until We Meet Again… I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, thankful for your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. –Philippians 1:3-5 As you may have already heard, I have accepted a call to become an Associate Rector at Christ Church (Anglican Communion) here in Midland. My new ministry there will begin on October 1st. I am excited about this next step in my vocation as a priest, and I am looking forward to all the new opportunities for growth and service that await me there. This step is a bittersweet one for me, as I have grown very fond of all of you during the past fourteen months I have been here at Holy Trinity. It has been such a privilege to be your priest, to visit with you after service, over a meal, at your homes, and even in the hospital. I am so grateful that you have opened your lives to me and invited me in. I will take with me some very fond memories: of my welcoming party, when I was presented with my first cowboy hat, the fantastic ECW women’s luncheon last fall, with the beautiful music, the lovely presentation, and the wonderful fellowship. I will also remember my first Christmas in Midland, with the gorgeous liturgy, music, and decorations. Then there was also the Midland High and Midland Lee football games, and concerts at the Museum of the Southwest! I would like to also express my deep appreciation to Fr. Mark and Doris, who have shown me such love and kindness since the first day I arrived here. I am also grateful to Cindy Wimberly and the rest of the staff who have taken such good care of me. I will miss you all very much. While I am leaving Holy Trinity, I will still be here in town. I hope that we will be able to continue to exercise our friendship, that we can stay in touch! Thank you so very much for all the love and support that you have given me. I am grateful that since we are all part of the Body of Christ, we do not have to say "good bye", but only "until we meet again!" Affectionately, Fr. Andy +

WOMEN'S RETREAT September 28-30, 2007 Bishop Quarterman Conference Center, Amarillo, Texas The Reverend Susan Sims-Smith from the Diocese of Arkansas will join us to lead a weekend retreat for women. Her ministry is called Seedwork. SeedWork was created to enliven the faith of those within the church, to reach out to those who are unchurched, and to restore relationships with those who have felt hurt by the church. It is a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Arkansas. Before becoming ordained as an Episcopal priest, The Rev. Sims-Smith worked for 25 years as a psychotherapist. She has taught extensively on dreams, committed relationships, and prayer and meditation. This workshop examines how dreams communicate the needs of the soul as participants prayerfully seek God's guidance to live their lives. The rich spiritual discipline of understanding dreams and seeking to live in harmony with the messages they bring can enrich lives with comfort, challenge, and practical solutions to problems of daily life. For more information about her work please go to: http://www.seedwork.org/index.html Registration information: Paula Howbert , 432-697-6536, pfhowbert@prodigy.net

Rays of Hope Children's Grief Centre 900 W. Wall St. Our goal at Rays of Hope is to provide a safe, neutral place for children to do the work of grief. Through facilitated peer support groups, we encourage children to use the creative arts as tools of expression. Placed with children of similar ages and circumstances, participants begin to realize they are not alone. With an adult facilitating the discussion, children share and acquire coping skills while working through the tough issues that accompany grief. Classes are 3-5 weeks long, beginning monthly and meet weekly. School age children 5-18 are welcome. There is no charge for enrollment. For more information, call 684-5437.
