Holy Trinity's Purpose

Since 1910, our primary purpose has remained the same:  to provide opportunities for people to deepen their relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

Our more specific mission is simple but dramatic: Sharing the knowledge and love of Jesus Christ with all people.  Our ministries are guided and directed by this mission, while at the same time appreciating that each person is on his or her own journey of faith.  Wherever people are in their journey, we encourage them to participate at a level that is comfortable for them.

bullet The Journey Inward - Finding Jesus

Finding Jesus is a part of the process of seeking a real experience of God in our lives.  We all want more from life, and seek to fill the emptiness we find inside.  Finding Jesus in our lives is the first step on the spiritual journey to God.

bullet The Journey Together - Following Jesus

Following Jesus helps us to see God more clearly.  As we grow in our faith, we see God at work in our lives in new ways.   We find a new set of priorities at work in our relationships.  We begin to ask what God would have us to do with our lives and our gifts.  We learn together what it means to be a Christian community in varied ways.  Worship provides an opportunity  to celebrate God's loving presence and work within us.  Parish life ministries provide opportunities to come together as a church for fun and celebration.  Our caregiving ministries carry out the baptismal covenant to heal, reconcile and strengthen the members of our community, with lay people and clergy working together.  Children and youth ministries celebrate and welcome young people into our midst, and offer educational programs designed to nurture and develop a meaningful life of faith.  Finally, our adult education programs help us understand and enrich our faith, relevantly exploring the questions and challenges of living that faith in our contemporary lives.

bullet The Journey Outward - Sharing Jesus

Fruitful disciples serve Jesus and one another.  Jesus asks us to serve one another as he has served us.  Being fruitful means putting our faith to work.  It also means bearing the fruit of faith and receiving the benefits God offers us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control.  Fruitful disciples also are called to extend faithfully our spiritual, human, and financial resources in response to all we have been given.  Faithful witnesses share God's love with others and help others find faith in Jesus. Accordingly, we invite others to join us for worship, or get plugged into one of our home groups.  We invite you to move closer to one another and God.

bullet   Living into our Mission

As a thriving parish of nearly 500 households, Holy Trinity seeks to be a Christian presence in the heart of Midland.  As we enter a new millennium, we are learning to live as a church whose purpose it is to share the knowledge and love of Jesus Christ with all people.  We hope you'll join us as we explore our faith together!
