MINUTES  ANNUAL PARISH MEETING 

January 29, 2006   

The Reverend Mark Cannaday called the Annual Parish meeting of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Trinity to order at 11:29 a.m. Fr. Mark opened with prayer followed by his opening comments during which he thanked Karen Parnell and the  Children’s Day Out Program for the brunch. A quorum was established and declared by parliamentarian Anne Hover.

 

Fr. Mark asked the parishioners to read the minutes of the previous Annual Parish meeting of January 30, 2005, as printed in the annual report. It was and seconded that the minutes be approved as printed. The motion passed.

 

Tricia Cobb, Senior Warden and representative of the Nominating Committee presented the slate of Vestry nominees.  The nominees were: Marilyn Allen, Carol Armstrong, Debra Chester, Bill Granberry, Emily Klemme, Rick Menchaca, Sue Reid, and Chip Smith.  Father Mark asked if there were any nominations from the floor.  There were none.

 

Tricia announced the slate of nominees for Convention Delegate.  The nominees were: Leta Collins, Will Green, Bob Klemme, Karen Mason, Fred Newman and Joyce Petrich. Father Mark asked if there were any nominations from the floor. There were none.

 

Father Mark explained the qualifications and procedures. Vestry members will be elected by a majority of votes on the first ballot. Delegates will be elected by a simple plurality, followed by the first and second alternates.  The ballots were distributed by the tellers.  The members voted and the ballots were collected for counting.

 

Kim Henderson, treasurer, presented the Financial Statements dated December 31, 2005 as printed in the annual report.  For 2005, 239 Pledges were received totaling $732,079.  Pledges collected totaled $742,695 or 101.4% of total pledges were collected.  Of the $742,695 collected, $78,650 were prepaid and collected in 2004, $664,045 was collected in 2005.  Plate collections for 2005 totaled $150,815; interest income $7,046; other income $482.  $110,862 of 2006 pledges were prepaid and collected in 2005 resulting in total income of $933,251. Total expenses were $862,701. We originally had a deficit budget in 2005 of 108,204 but resulting in a net operating income of $70,549 because of $110,862 of prepaid pledges which will be used during the 2006 year.

 

Jim Newman, chairman of the Fiscal Affairs Committee recommended and the Vestry approved a budget/total expenses of $864,574, a (48,709) 5.3% decrease from last year.  Incidentally this is an 8½% decrease from 04 to 05.  For 2006 projected net loss of ($70,108).

 

Father Mark turned the meeting over to Cindy Olive for a special United Thank Offering presentation.

 

Father Mark thanked Junior Warden Mike Senich for his time and energy on the beautiful kitchen, parish hall and property updates.

 

Father Mark thanked Tricia Cobb, Senior Warden for her service to the Episcopal Church of the Holy Trinity and presented her with a gift.  Father Mark also thanked the outgoing Vestry members, Kay Arrell, Jody Gilles and Bob Klemme for their service and presented each with a gift. He also introduced Jim Newman as the new Senior Warden.

The meeting was then turned over to DeeDee Boring for a presentation of the parish in review. 

 

Father Mark announced the results of the vestry election. Marilyn Allen, Bill Granberry, Rick Menchaca and Chip Smith were elected to the Vestry.  The results of the delegate election were then read.  Bob Klemme, Karen Mason and Fred Newman were elected as delegates to Convention.

 

Father Mark closed the meeting with a prayer.
