The Episcopal Church of the Holy Trinity Vestry Minutes January 31, 2008 The meeting was called to order at 6:35 with the Lord’s Prayer. Members present: Deborah Chester, Jody Gilles, Connie Godlevski, Carol Armstrong, Don Olive, Terry Jolliffe, Orman Hubbard, Russ Robke n, Mark Wheeler, Sam Stephens, Marilyn Allen, Jim Newman Guests: Anne Hover The minutes were read and approved. The members discussed apportionment relief from the diocese. Jody Gilles will draft a letter seeking clarification of our obligation and offering additional documentation to the chair of the Standing Committee, Fr. Clifton Mann. Jody Gilles asked if the vestry wanted a retreat. Suggested sites were The Gage Hotel, Marathon, Texas, Indian Lodge, Ft. Davis, and El Paisano, Marfa. Terry will collect information for the next board meeting. Members should consult their calendars, and report the days that the can NOT be available to Terry. Mark Wheeler volunteered to be the liaison to Liturgy and Worship and announced that Fr. Allen Whitman is already starting to plan Holy Week. After school is out, Fr. Allen plans to be more active. The possibility of consolidating some services until an interim rector can be found was discussed. Jody has received the names of two priests from Fr. Chuck Collins who may be interested in the interim position. A communications director is needed to coordinate the website, "Desert Scrolls", ads and the newsletter. The Strategic Planning Committee was congratulated. After The Lord’s Prayer, the meeting adjourned at 8:10pm.
