Just Ask Me…

Dear Miss Know It All,
I have also heard the term "RECTOR" used. Is that a priest?
Dumb Founded

Dear Dumb Founded,

The Rector is the priest in charge of a self-supporting parish, like ours. Mark Cannaday would be our Rector. The tern rector is derived from the Latin for "rule". The rector has jurisdiction of the parish, subject to the rubrics of the Book of Common Prayer, the constitution and canons of the church, and the pastoral direction of the bishop. We sure have some funny words to describe things, don't we? Is it all in the wonder of being an Episcopalian.
Miss Know It All

The children there cannot go to school if they don’t have shoes. All sizes and shapes are welcome....boys or girls, gently used or new. Collecting through January 31. Thank You!

How wonderful and generous you were in the season of Christmas! Thanks to all for giving us gift after gift of good things which we have enjoyed and will enjoy in the months ahead. We hope to thank all of you personally but should we lose our way because of feeble memories from the hurry of the season, remember we rejoiced at that moment of receiving and we do now: thank you so much for your kindness! Blessings and love to all.

Fr. Mark and Doris Cannaday
