The Episcopal Church of the Holy Trinity Vestry Minutes February 21, 2008 The meeting was called to order at 7:40 by Jody Gilles. A
prayer was given. Present: Jody Gilles, Connie Godlevski, Marilyn Allen, Russ
Robken, Sam Stephens, Deb Chester, Jom Newman, Don Olive, Mark Wheeler, Terry
Jolliffe. Absent: Orman Hubbard, Carol Armstrong Guests: Angela Stephens, Cindy Wimberly. The minutes were read and corrected. Angela Stephens presented the financials. The Vestry
discussed several areas in which to cut costs.
Sara Fritz is still working to be sure that all expenses are correctly
coded. Cindy Wimberley explained
the discretionary funds accounting procedure. Nominations for the Holy Trinity Trust committee include
Will Green Mary Lou Cassidy, Kay Arell, Jack Bilbo, Julie Montgomery, Jane
Williams, and Orman Hubbard. Don Olive is already on that committee and will
bring his notes to the next vestry meeting. The Vestry needs to study the Lyman Trust. Holy week services will be as follows: Maundy Thursday at
5:30, Good Friday at 12:00, And Easter morning and evening. Fr. Slayter is willing to conduct the Sunday 5:15 service,
the men’s and women’s breakfast services, and the 11 Thursday service.
Fr. Bonnington will also help, but is limited due to the fact that he
assists Fr. Liggett at St. Nicholas. Supply
priests are paid $100 for the first service of the day and $50 for each service
thereafter. Mileage is paid at
$0.48 per mile. Mark Wheeler continues to work on reorganizing the Worship
and Liturgy Council. We need for the entire council system to be up and running
with monthly reports to the Vestry. Calls have been made and emails have been sent to other
priests to fill in until an interim can be found. The Vestry will serve as the search committee for the
interim rector and a search committee for the new rector should be chosen by
March 15. Cindy needs help with the cover letter for the newsletter.
