Dear HT Family and Friends, We've been offered a weekend for the new Family Camp program at Laity Lodge. The dates are Sept. 14-16 at Singing Hills. John Hill is the new director. He's an Episcopal priest and has camp experience at LL, Sky Ranch, Diocese of West Texas at Camp Capers and the Mustang Island Retreat Center, and Pine Cove. He's recently been a vicar in Australia with his wife and small children. What Family Camp is: For any combination of families. Adult families, single families, grandparent families. ALL AMENITIES ARE PROVIDED. Every family has a separate cabin or room. It's a time for relaxing and playing and building relationships within your family and our church family. What Family Camp is not: Multiple families in one cabin. Scrambling for planning, materials, food, etc. (not that that isn't fun, but this is a hassle free weekend!) The cost of the weekend: $125 per adult $100 per youth 12-17 $50 per child 3-11 Free under 3 LET ME KNOW ASAP IF YOU ARE INTERESTED. They've asked for 10-15 families (extended families may share a large cabin.) I'm looking into scholarships as well, so don't let the $ stop you without checking with me or Deborah. Blessings, Jenness Gilles

WOMEN'S RETREAT September 28-30, 2007 Bishop Quarterman Conference Center, Amarillo, Texas The Reverend Susan Sims-Smith from the Diocese of Arkansas will join us to lead a weekend retreat for women. Her ministry is called Seedwork. SeedWork was created to enliven the faith of those within the church, to reach out to those who are unchurched, and to restore relationships with those who have felt hurt by the church. It is a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Arkansas. Before becoming ordained as an Episcopal priest, The Rev. Sims-Smith worked for 25 years as a psychotherapist. She has taught extensively on dreams, committed relationships, and prayer and meditation. This workshop examines how dreams communicate the needs of the soul as participants prayerfully seek God's guidance to live their lives. The rich spiritual discipline of understanding dreams and seeking to live in harmony with the messages they bring can enrich lives with comfort, challenge, and practical solutions to problems of daily life. For more information about her work please go to: http://www.seedwork.org/index.html Registration information: Paula Howbert , 432-697-6536, pfhowbert@prodigy.net
Church: Locked Doors, Cameras & Intercoms! Because of security needs, Holy Trinity has three locked doors each with an intercom and camera. These are to be used during business hours.
If you arrive and the doors are locked, just push the intercom button, speak and release the button and wait for someone to speak to you. They will be able to see you on the camera, recognize you and release the lock and you may enter. If you have an ongoing need, and wish to enter through one of these three-programmed doors, we can issue a card that can be used to gain entrance during hours needed. Keys continue to work on all other doors. Doors will be programmed to be open for all services and Wednesday evening activities. If you have a key, you can still enter through non-programmed doors. One more thing—to exit the building through one of these three doors, you will need to hit the "Door Exit" button to the side (right or left) of each door. To exit any other door, push open and the door locks behind you as always. CDO: Their doors will be accessible through intercom or with a card. They, too, will be open for all church services and programs as needed. Security: Like many homes, the facility will be "armed" each evening and "unarmed" early each morning. Fire: For the first time, the facility has 24-hour fire protection with a monitoring service. Our church is old and much cannot be replaced and this is a necessary thing. Safety: This may be inconvenient, but it is becoming quite common in churches. Please remember, it is for the safety of our staff and others who may be working alone or in small groups.
