MINUTES

Vestry Regular Meeting

Thursday, April 19, 2007 

Members Present: Father Mark Cannaday, Father Andy Powell, Bill Granberry, Sr. Warden; Anne Hover, clerk; Clark Lea, Chancellor; Bill Wallace, Lea Crump, Terry Staub, Carol Armstrong, Julie Harvey, Lucia Gray. 

Members unable to Attend: Rick Menchaca, Chip Smith, Marilyn Allen, Bill Holmes 

Father Mark called the meeting to order at 5:37pm. 

The vestry shared with each other their personal updates.  

Father Andy presented the Bible reading for today, John 3:31-36.   

As per our Canons, Bill Granberry moved to elect Lucia Gray to the vestry in order to fill John Holmes’ unexpired term. The motion was seconded and passed.

As per our Canons, Bill Granberry moved to elect Carol Armstrong as Junior Warden. The motion was seconded and passed.    

The minutes of the March meeting were approved as corrected.  

Bill Granberry presented the Treasurers report for Kim Henderson. See attached.  

The agenda was amended to allow Cindy Olive to give her reports on Nancy’s Place and Musikgarten. (see attached) 

Father Mark presented a report from Karen Parnell, Children’s Day Out Director, for a new playground surface. (see attached) Discussion followed. Bill Wallace moved to select the shredded rubber surfacing (Synthetic Wood Fibers) – GameTime for $6,374 plus the cost of installation using property restricted funds given in memory of Mary Anne Lindley. The motion was seconded and passed.  

Father Mark reported that we will not go forward with the organist search due to the uncertainties of Holy Trinity. He also reported that a parishioner has pledged to buy new Prayer Books for Holy Trinity to replace the worn out ones.  

Bill Granberry announced that the vestry will cook supper on Wednesday, April 25 for the Wednesday night Parish dinner. Volunteers were solicited.  

Bill Granberry gave a  fire / security system update. He is expecting bids soon. An off-duty policeman has been hired until we secure an alarm system.  

Bill Wallace reported on Holy Trinity’s Insurance. Discussion followed. It was the consensus of the vestry to consider raising the deductable and purchasing a 4 million dollar umbrella after getting  hard quotes on these two items. Bill will obtain the hard quotes for consideration at the May meeting.  

Father Andy reported on Great Dates. There will be a Great Dates in May, but due to poor attendance the program will be suspended in the future.

The Vestry went into Executive Session to discuss the Vestry Workshop Report and Ways Forward. 

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:07PM.
